The AMPTP records span the years 1940s–1970s and encompass approximately 22 linear feet. The collection contains subject files maintained by the organization on such topics as advertising, censorship, labor relations and strikes, and the influence of American films. Files include correspondence, memos, and clippings with information on the AMPP, the Hollywood Canteen, the Hollywood Coordinating Committee, the Hollywood Museum, the Hollywood Victory Committee, the Motion Picture Alliance, the Motion Picture Industry Council (MPIC), the Motion Picture Relief Fund, the Motion Picture Research Council, Movietime U.S.A., the National Association of Theater Owners (NATO), the National Catholic Office for Motion Pictures, and the Production Code Administration (PCA).
